3 day in Evora with Monsaraz, Estremoz and Alter Private Wine Tour 

Our tour begins with the pick up at your Hotel, Apartment or Ship.

This private 3 day tour is provided mainly with the objective of showing you region of Évora and Alentejo. While Évora itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will also dwell into other locations such as the medieval villages of Monsaraz and Estremoz. Although there will be time to visit the inside of some selected monuments or attractions, it is never sufficient to visit all of them, so please inform your driver of your preferences and all arrangements will be made in order to fulfill your preferences. This experience is provided for the sole purpose of your enjoyment so feel free to ask for whatever you need and we will try our best to accommodate your request. As this is a private tour, you can rearrange your tour as you see fit. Below is the standard itinerary:

Day 1
After the pick-up, we will head directly to the Southeast through one of Lisbon's emblematic bridges, directly to Évora, an approximately 1h30m drive. Once we get there we will show you initially the surroundings of the old city, and we can also visit the Almendres Chromlech, one of the most important structures of this kind in the region. After that we will proceed to the center of the village where we will leave the car and walk through the small city center to the main attractions, Roman Temple, Cathedral, Bones Chapel, Giraldo's Square, etc. (an approximate 1 to 2 km walk to see all the main spots).

After lunch, we will proceed to one of the nearby wineries for a wine tasting and visit after which we will return to Évora and check in at the hotel. 

Day 2

Our first visit of the day will be at one of the emblematic wineries in the Reguengos region, after which we will proceed to the village of Monsaraz. While Monzaraz is a perfect medieval village all tucked inside of a castle, it has beautiful landscapes and offers magnificent views to the Alqueva lake, the largest artificial lake in Europe. Lunch will be in the vicinities after which we will proceed to Vidigueira and vila de frades for a visit to one of the many clay pot wine producers in the region. We will return to èvora and the hotel approximately by 6 pm.

Day 3

After an approximate 1 hour drive, we will arrive at this old Royal stud farm where we will spend the first part of the day on a guided tour of the farm and the history of this horse and the Portuguese Riding Art, a candidate to Immaterial World Heritage title by Unesco. Depending on the schedule we may also be able to see a Falconry show where the trained Falcons demonstrate their hunting skills. 

Depending on the day and on the program of the farm, you may be able to see the horses in the wild. After the visit, you will have lunch at a nearby typical restaurant of your choice which your guide will help you decide and proceed to Estremoz, home of the best marble extraction in Portugal.

You will visit the town with its castle and after that, we will visit one of the wineries in the vicinities to finish our wine tour and return to Lisbon. 

Please note that although this is mostly a wine tour. the order of the visits and the number of wineries may be altered if you prefer and we will always be able to replace those with some other attractions. Just let us know before booking if you prefer to have something different.

• Please note that all our prices are per trip and not per person, meaning that the price you see is what you pay for the whole group.
• Depending on the size of the group and car availability the tours are made on a high end sedan/estate (Mercedes E or equivalent) or on a high end van (Mercedes V or equivalent)

• All of our tours are normally made in English, but can also be made in Spanish, and of course, Portuguese. Just let us know if you require a different language than English when you book.

If cancelled more than 7 days before the tour: 0% Cancellation fee - Full Refund

Between 17 and 5 days before the tour: 25% Cancellation fee - 75% Refund

Between 4 and 2 days before the tour: 50% Cancellation fee - 50% Refund

48 hours or less before the tour (including Noshows): 100% Cancellation fee - No Refund
