Jerónimos Monastery, the Tower of Belém and the Discoveries Monument are the most emblematic monuments of the Portuguese discoveries era. We will stop for photos and visit briefly one or more of these monuments.

Sintra Day:
When the focus of the trip is to visit the Pena Palace, this will be our very first stop. As tickets and visits are timed, be sure to let us know that you plan to visit this palace so we can design the itinerary and advise you on the time to purchase tickets. After the Pena Palace, we will go to the center of Sintra, where you can enjoy the traditional pastries at a local tea house, or you can pay a short visit to the Village Palace, an 11th-century palace that has been transformed throughout the centuries and is now one of the most emblematic places of Sintra or the Regaleira Palace with its impressive gardens.
After this, you can have lunch in Sintra or we will proceed to another location for lunch depending on your preferences. On our way out of the village, we will still see the Regaleira, Monserrate Palace and Park, and also the 18th-century palace of Seteais. Then head to the Cabo da Roca, the most western point of Europe, with its beautiful landscapes. Next, pass by the beach of Guincho, heading towards the Hell's Mouth, a natural cluster of caves and tunnels in the sea, and then the Royal Village of Cascais. From here, you will take the scenic coastal route back to Lisbon where we will enter through Belém and visit the main monuments in the area.
On a Full Day in Sintra, it's impossible to visit all of the palaces above mentioned. Normally there is time for 2 visits or one visit and extended shopping time. Please inform the driver of your preferences so that all can be arranged to suit your requirements. Return to the hotel by 17.30h

After that, visit the Monastery of Batalha, one of the best examples of Gothic architecture in Portugal. It was built as a worship gift for the victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota which took place nearby. Depending on time we may lunch here or at our next stop, Nazare.
